Jamie Cuthill is widely recognized as Colorado’s most accomplished piper.
A two-time Western United States Professional Solo Piping Champion (2015, 2017), Jamie has competed internationally in both solo and band events, earning top prizes in Scotland, Canada, and the United States.
He serves as Director of the Colorado Youth Pipe Band and, in 2023, retired from competitive band performance after leading the Queen City Pipe Band from its inception. Under his instruction, competitive students consistently earn top honors, while his non-competitive students achieve meaningful personal milestones and musical goals.
In addition to his work as a performer and educator, Jamie is a highly respected piping adjudicator and serves on the Music Board of the Western United States Pipe Band Association (WUSPBA). In recognition of his significant contributions to advancing piping standards, he was awarded Life Membership in the WUSPBA in 2021.
With 30 years of experience and training under some of the world’s most distinguished instructors, Jamie has performed at hundreds of events, including weddings, funerals, graduations, and private engagements. His performances have included appearances for Olympians, celebrities, and international television audiences.
Jamie teaches students of all ages and skill levels and remains deeply committed to excellence in teaching, competition, and performance.
